3 Weeks Ago. We saw a need for a family in WV who needed to re-home their family dog after 13 years together. Our friends from One By One Animal Advocates were in touch with the dog's owners and trying to help with the unfortunate situation they found themselves in. The family fell upon financial hardship and had relocated to smaller apartment housing which would not accept "larger" dogs. Their dog, Sugar, was then living at a family member's house outside. Sugar, was with the family up until that point this summer since she was a puppy, and even though they attempted to have the building owner reconsider, they felt the need to re-home Sugar.
We know that older dogs are hard to adopt out, but we also know that there is no greater love from a pet than that of a senior pet. Most of the dogs that have been house dogs at The Ranch have been senior. While we know that seniors do not have much time with us, in our experience we are able to give the love back to the older dogs the love given to so many throughout their younger years.
So world, Welcome Sugar to Rutherford Rescue Ranch !
