RRR has not been updating you due to our busy 2015. Let's fill you in !
We moved... we are learning the rescue ropes with Furkid Rescue by fostering for them... we have lost two of our beloved house dogs.... and we have our 501c3 Non Profit Application pending.... phew.
In January, our foster application was approved by Furkid Rescue. We began fostering in our home with a Pit mix puppy named Aster. Aster was adopted by a close friend and we see her almost everyday !
In February, three Furkid Chihuahuas rescued from a puppy mill, Ned Nederlander, Dusty Bottoms, and Lucky Day. Ned and Dusty found wonderful homes, and Lucky Day was a Foster Fail ! Welcome to the family, Lucky Day !
In April, our Beloved Samantha Jones crossed over the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly. Samantha was an angel on earth and our home has been barren without her! We know how fragile the lives of our pets are, and we take every moment with them as a gift.
A week after Samantha passed away, our family moved to a new home with more space and a nice big yard ! We so desired a farm, but realized that with our work schedules (we do work full time) that the commute would be too far to do our rescue work AND still have our jobs! We LOVE our new home and have enjoyed the extra space. Thankfully, we have wonderful neighbors.
In June, Furkid Rescue foster, Bolt, the cleft lip puppy, came to our home. He stayed for a little while before being adopting by a wonderful couple and their furry kids, Riley and Chesher the cat.
In July, Bolt's sister, Juno the puppy, came to live with us as a foster for Furkid Rescue. Juno had a rough start to her life and was struggling with a broken front leg. After 3 weeks of attempted healing time a much pain, Juno had her leg amputated. Our family loved Juno too much to let her leave, and was adopted her as a house dog at RRR ! Welcome to the family, Juno!
Sadly, while Juno's leg was trying to heal our sweet and very first rescue dog, Tego, passed away from an apparent stroke. Tego was a loving old soul, and after almost 5 years together, he was a major part of our daily lives. Again, we faced an empty hole in our home, and we miss his smile so much.
August is here and with it came a litter of Furkid Rescue pit puppies coined, "The Cardboard Box Puppies". Ollie, Cleo, Mason, Shadow, and Bella were left in a cardboard box behind Bass Pro Shops in Memphis, Tennessee. Fortunately, Furkid Rescue stepped up to help and we have agreed to foster Ollie, Shadow, and Bella until they find a furever home.
Our 501c3 Application for Non Profit Status is pending with the IRS and we will hopefully be announcing our official first RRR foster soon ! Our board is being selected and the bi-laws are in the works.
More to come in 2015 !!
